About · Corrections

Every fix, on the record.

When we change a published piece, we say so here. The original piece carries a note at the bottom for anything substantive. The full log lives on this page.

Last updated May 5, 2026.

What counts as a correction

Three things get logged on this page.

  1. Factual fix. A claim we made was wrong. We change the piece and log the change here with the date and the source.
  2. Source replacement. An external link broke or moved. We replace with the current canonical and log it if the original carried meaningful weight (a citation, not a "see also" pointer).
  3. Substantive rewrite. We changed the piece's argument or recommendation in a way a returning reader should know about.

Typo fixes, copy edits, and rewrites that don't change the substance do not get logged.

Submit a correction

If you spot something that looks wrong, write to [email protected] with a link to the piece and what you saw. We re-check, fix the read if you're right, and log the change here.

We answer every correction email. We credit readers who want credit and skip credit for readers who would rather not.
